Bienvenidos, Raza!

Welcome to the official Nuevo Plan de Aztlan website.  Nuevo Plan de Aztlan unites Chicanas y Chicanos with all Indigenas facing the new wave of racial harassment, discrimination and persecution in our Americas since 9/11.

As a college student, I chaired Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) chapters at Long Beach City College, Ventura College, California State University Northridge and Humboldt State University while preparing for law school.   After college and law school, I started Internet Mecha to network with all past, present and future Mechistas on the World Wide Web because I believe "Once a Mechista Always a Mechista!"

I have organized with La Raza Unida, Barrios Unidos, the United Farmworkers Union and other Chicana y Chicano organizations for La Causa in the barrios, colonias and campos of Aztlan and throughout our Americas since 1970. I also taught college and university courses in Chicana y Chicano Studies during the Seventies and Eighties, and worked for indigenous rights with the Northern Indian California Education Project, the American Indian Movement and other North American Indian organizations.

All Mechistas leave unfinished business behind on our old campuses when we graduate or otherwise leave "higher education."  Mechistas today have new business and our unfinished business to deal with too as the racistas attack MEChAs left, right and center on these campuses.

Mechistas of all ages must band together with all Chicanas y Chicanos, and with all other Indigenas in Aztlan and beyond to defend and assert our natural, indigenous, civil, constitutional and human rights in our Americas.  Elder Chicanas y Chicanos cannot expect our joventud to handle the new wave of racial harassment, discrimination and persecution La Raza is now facing alone. 

Chicanas y Chicanos of all ages must stand up united and strong con el grito, "YA BASTA!
